The Delirians coalesced together in early 2007 from various members of young LA bands playing the Jamaican Ska beat. At first it was just fellow musicians that had found friendship in their mutual love of the Jamaican sound. Much like the yard from the golden age of Studio One the musicians just wanted to make music.
After a few years playing various shows in backyards, and other bands parties the members realized that the music they were making was infectious and exciting. They started to incorporate more soulful and early Reggae sounds into the mix to come up with a concoction distinctly their own but rightfully paid tribute to the artists that inspired them. This is Funky Reggae straight from the Ghetto of East LA.
Since deciding to take the band a little more serious and dedicate themselves to putting on one of the best live shows on the west coast their star has only brightened. They have been honored to perform as the backing band or direct support for some of their heroes including Strange Cole, Derrick Morgan, The Pioneers and The Skatalites. They have also played alongside some of today’s hottest acts including The Aggrolites, The Toasters, The Lions, The Slackers, Bad Manners, Chris Murray Combo and more.
